Morro Bay Recovery Patient Bill of Rights and Responsibilities

A Morro Bay Recovery Patient referred to herein as "patient" or "patient's" or "Patient" or "The Patient" or "the patient’s" or "the patient" has the right to be informed of their rights and responsibilities before the initiation of care and services at Morro Bay Recovery. If a patient is not able to comprehend these rights and responsibilities as documented here in the Morro Bay Recovery Patient Bill of Rights and Responsibilities, then the patient’s family or guardian may exercise these rights as described below.

PATIENT RIGHTS:

  • To receive services appropriate to patient needs without unlawful restriction.
  • To have access to necessary professional services.

SELF-DETERMINATION:

  • To refuse recovery care and recovery treatment to the extent permitted by law.
  • To be informed of advance directives rights under state law.
  • To have advance directives followed.
  • To be informed of advance directive implementation policies.
  • To receive recovery care with or without advance directives.
  • To be informed about emergency procedures.
  • To participate in consideration of ethical issues.

COMPLAINTS:

  • To voice complaints and grievances without reprisal or discrimination.
  • To be informed of the procedure to voice complaints and grievances.
  • To register complaints with Morro Bay Recovery Management.
  • To be informed of the State Hotline for complaints.

PATIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide complete and accurate information.
  • To inform the Morro Bay Recovery organization of appointment changes.
  • To treat Morro Bay Recovery staff with respect.
  • To participate in and follow the plan of recovery care.
  • To provide a safe environment for recovery care.
  • To cooperate with the Morro Bay Recovery staff and ask questions when needed.
  • To assist with billing and payment issues.
  • To inform the Morro Bay Recovery organization of problems or dissatisfaction with services.
